MELS Receives Epic MegaGrant from Epic Games

Will be used to support development of its new virtual production technology!

Montreal, August 11, 2021 – MELS is proud to announce that they have received an Epic MegaGrant from Epic Games and will use the support to further the ongoing development of its virtual production initiatives.

 

In 2020, MELS embarked on a digital shift by launching a virtual production stage equipped with an LED-screen backdrop. The technology makes it possible to replace green screens and create a virtual set in real time, affording producers greater creative freedom. As a result, MELS is now able to offer clients state-of-the-art facilities that combines virtual worlds with digital technology.

All services – visual effects, cameras, lighting, post-production, technical crews – are linked by fibre optics to all the sets. The turnkey model allows producers and filmmakers greater agility, efficiency and creative latitude.
