Karim El Katari
Colour grader
“Colour grading animated images supports the director’s intention. It’s something that should be felt without being seen. I try to be a colour chameleon.”

Karim is a “constant companion” whose art permeates every second of a film. For over 10 years, he has worked with big names in Paris, including Asghar Farhadi, Raymond Depardon, Pierre Schoeller, Christian Duguay, Volker Schlöndorff, Fabrice du Welz, and François Dupeyron.
Working with directors and cinematographers means listening, asking questions, thinking, suggesting, adjusting, readjusting, and being present, ideally from beginning to end.
“We have to work together to define the film’s or series’ visual identity, its look. We have to consider how to go about it at every stage of production. That’s how we build close, lasting collaborations.”
