Mario Brillon
When I watch a scene after spending hours on it, and I feel something, I’m happy. Mario is a trained musician with a master’s degree in sound recording. “My background in music is a valuable technical and creative tool. When I do the mixing for a scene, I work on its harmonies, its rhythm. I’m creating its music.”
And its music can’t be created without the director’s involvement. “I have to listen and make sure I understand the intention.”
His colleagues are also pivotal. “We work together to take each scene where the director wants it to go.”
His challenge? “Staying true to the work to create something with textures, something that’s both beautiful and coherent.”
